A Dozen Years and Still Crowing!

Join us in Wanatah on September 22, 23 and 24 for the 12th Annual Scarecrow Festival. Information and a schedule of events can be found at www.scarecrowfest.org. J-MARt of Wanatah is accepting apps for all Scarecrow Events including the Scarecrow Scamper Kids Fun Run.

J-MARt is also pleased to be a sponsor of the 1st Annual Wanatah School Athletic Department 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament to be held Sat., Sept. 23. Fun for all ages. For more info, call the school at 733-2815.

4th Annual Grandma's Tag Sale
4th Annual Antique, Mum & Perennial sale at 5600 Small Road, LaPorte. Saturday, Sept. 16th. 4 miles west of LaPorte off state road 2. Turn north on 500 West (5 miles east of US 421, Westville) off of State Road 2 at Pinola Grange. Then left onto Small Road. 1st farm on left. Watch for signs.

This year's event will feature antique enthusiasts from all over LaPorte County selling furniture, jewelry, hummels and lots more antiques. Also featured will be bulbs, mums, gourds, perennials and more. Stop in before visiting the Garwood Apple Fest (we're just north of Garwood Orchards) or the Barn Fest or Sunflower Fest in LaPorte. 8am to 4pm. Grandma will have everything tagged! 219-324-4182

Fighting mosquito bites reduces your risk of getting this disease, along with others that mosquitoes can carry. Take the commonsense steps below to reduce your risk:

Something to remember: The chance that any one person is going to become ill from a single mosquito bite remains low. The risk of severe illness and death is highest for people over 50 years old, although people of all ages can become ill.
